From a dream shared amongst five  passionate young women who hoped to establish a community of leadership and solidarity amongst young females and enrich the Black University experience, 

a new sorority at the University of Ottawa known as Sigma Beta Phi (ΣΒΦ) was born, in February 28th, 2008. 

 

Since then, Sigma Beta Phi has expanded its network and is encompassed of many young black women who also share the vision our mother founders' initially had.
