In furtherance of the Sigma Beta Phi mandate to promote women's acheivement through community involvement and volunteerism, the sorority organizes, participates and volunteers at a variety of events annually. The organizations Sigma has volunteered with since its inception include:

2. Youth Living the Dream Beyond Borders

3. The Red Cross

4. Saint Lucian Ottawa Association

5. Carivibe

6. The Black Women's Civil Engagement Network (BWCEN),

7. Harmony House (Women's Shelter),

8. Adopt a Highway (with the Alpha Delta Xi and Nu Gamma Gamma chapters of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity),

9. Black History Ottawa

10. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada (JDRF)

Additionally, each year Sigma Beta Phi organizes an event called Strength of a Woman, in honour of women for International Women’s Day with those who share our interest in improving the status of women. We celebrate this day by highlighting the contemporary woman and the daily challenges women face, through different themes. Each year, the event includes, guest speakers, performances, dinner, awards and much more!
